Meghan Murphy and Batya Ungar-Sargon on how journalism went woke

Meghan Murphy talks with Batya Ungar-Sargon the author of Bad News: How Woke Media Is Undermining Democracy. The book charts the trajectory of journalism in the US as it shifted from being a blue collar occupation producing the penny press for the masses, to a profession for Ivy League university graduates of today who focus their concerns on their affluent, highly educated peers.

  1. I wish someone would direct me to the U.S. society where the majority of people think everyone deserves a decent life. Most Americans I have dealt with in my life think THEY deserve a decent life but they’re even suspicious of neighbors who look like them and THEIR right to a decent life. I find Ungar-Sargon rather naive.
